Swedish Massage

Swedish massage is the most popular type of massage in the United States. It involves the use of hands, forearms or elbows to manipulate the superficial layers of the muscles to improve mental and physical health. Active or passive movement of the joints may also be part of the massage.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is aimed at the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia, also called connective tissue. Deep tissue massage uses many of the same movements and techniques as Swedish massage, but the pressure will generally be more intense. It is also a more focused type of massage, as the therapist works to release chronic muscle tension or knots.

Connective Tissue Therapy

Connective tissue therapy is a type of massage designed to achieve balance, coordination and tone within the myofascial system.  Utilizing lengthening, lifting, spreading and separating strokes, CTT moves layer by layer through the fascial web, helping fascia return to a healthy, pliable state. The therapy can be highly effective in pain management and improving the energy levels and vitality in the body.

Myofascial Release Therapy

Myofascial Release is an effective massage technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue (skeletal muscle) restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion.  The treatment improves blood and lymphatic circulation, stimulating the stretch reflex in muscles.

Neuromuscular Therapy

Neuromuscular Therapy (Trigger Point) is a form of massage which applies static pressure to the skin with the aim of stimulating specific areas of the muscular skeletal system.  Often these areas of muscle are congested with myofascial trigger points. This technique manipulates the soft tissue of the body to enhance harmony between the muscular system and the nervous system.
